ABOUT:

Cochin work was incorporated within the year 1972 as a completely owned Government of Republic of India company. within the last 3 decades the corporate has emerged as a forerunner within the Indian construction & Shiprepair business. This yard will build and repair the biggest vessels in india. It will build ships upto 1,10,000 DWT and repair ships upto 1,25,000 DWT. The yard has delivered 2 of India’s largest double hull Aframax tankers each of 95,000 DWT . CSL has secured construction orders from internationally famed corporations from Europe & geographic area and is appointed to create the country’s 1st indigenous defense Ship.

Shipyard commenced ship repair operations within the year 1982 and has undertaken repairs of all kinds of ships together with upgradation of ships of oil exploration business moreover as periodical disenable repairs and life extension of ships of Navy, UTL, Coast Guard, Fisheries and Port Trust besides merchandiser ships of SCI & ONGC. The yard has, over the years, developed adequate capabilities to handle advanced and complicated repair jobs.

The work conjointly trains graduate engineers to marine engineers who later be part of ships each Indian and foreign as 5th Engineers. 100 are trained per annum.
